The work of Eleusis Films is dedicated to lifelong learning and discovery. Even at times when the world feels small, mundane, or fully known, in truth there are great mysteries all around us.

SAL (CYNTHIA) LOPEZ

I am a video editor, producer, and documentary filmmaker in Portland, Oregon. I founded Eleusis Films in 2013.

I have a particular affinity for projects about aging, land and agriculture, and those that explore the history and culture of the Pacific Northwest. My work values are preparedness, curiosity, collaboration, kindness and a sense of humor.

I am inspired by nature, comedians, direct care workers, human and cultural rights advocates, crisis mediators, and a variety of arts, crafts, and the people who make them. Some of my favorite filmmakers lately are Agnes Varda, Jane Campion, Jim Jarmusch, and Paolo Sorrentino. This list is constantly changing so I’ll try to keep it updated.

When not working, I hang out with my dog in nature, make paintings and collages, worship vegetables, and read.
